Pre + postnatal

Prenatal

Classes

While we do not have any specifically prenatal classes on our regular schedule, many of our classes are perfectly suitable for pregnant folks. We recommend consulting with a healthcare professional about engaging in physical activity and common modifications or things to avoid prior to attending.

Specialized series

We host a multi-week prenatal series two to three times yearly. This series is called Bun in the Oven and is offered by Good Space instructor and birth doula, Mary-Dora. If we have one coming up, you can sign up through our Workshops page.

Postnatal

BABY (groove)

We host a 60-minute postnatal dance class called BABY (groove) every Tuesday at 11:00am. Signup is done through our Schedule page. This is a dance + cardio class for parents / caregivers and their babies up to 12 months. Babies must be comfortably carried by parents / caregivers. A baby carrier is recommended but not essential. No crawlers.

BABY (groove) aims to reduce caregiver isolation through community connection and feel-good hormones via dance, rhythm and music. This class begins with a warm-up and moves into either a simple dance routine with lots of repetition or some fun and gentle cardio including bouncing, swaying, swinging and grooving. We finish with a cool-down and some open space for stillness or community socialization. This class is done in bare feet on the hardwood, but you are welcome to wear grip socks for added stability. Stools are available for seated grooving or to take a beat during class.

Accessibility

We are located on the second floor. There are two small exterior steps at the street entrance, with interior stairs up to the studio.

Unfortunately there is no elevator access but we are happy to help you carry a stroller up the interior steps. Once you get inside the building, just come up and ask us!

We do not have designated changing tables but you are welcome to bring a changing mat and use the studio in a way that feels comfortable and accommodating to you during this class. We have two private washrooms and three change rooms.

Unfortunately we do not have a fridge on site.

There is paid street parking on Dufferin St. right outside our front door. Otherwise, the side streets south-west of us (Elm Grove, Melbourne etc.) have free daytime parking.
