FAQ

Out of Office takes place at Northern Edge in the heart of Algonquin Park on Kawawaymog Lake

There are four different kinds of accommodations that offer both shared + private options: Studio, Habitat and Canopy Cabins and the Dreamer's Hill Suite. See the run down of each option here.

A typical day at Out of Office balances programming with open space; practice with adventure.

You might start your day with breakfast, an invigorating Pilates practice followed by a canoe ride or a hike then have lunch before taking some down time to relax by the water, go for a swim or just read your book in a hammock. Your afternoon practice might look like something more grounding and restorative followed by dinner. After-dinner activities may include a fire, sauna or an early night under the stars.

Rides are not included in the retreat cost but, as most of our community is coming from Toronto, we help facilitate carpooling through a shared spreadsheet that is organized a month before departure. So far we have not had to leave anyone behind :)

Classes include elements of Pilates, strength, stretching, dance cardio, restorative yoga and meditation. The energy of the class is directly related to the day and what else is on the schedule. Class types are:

Release + Receive: Stretching, guided meditation

Power + Flow: Strength, Barre, Pilates and Yoga-inspired flows

Home Away From Home: Pilates

Move + Groove: Dance Aerobics

Restore + Relax: Restorative Yoga/Pilates

Onward with Optimism: Upbeat Pilates with light cardio moments. Open, fulfilled, strong.

The food is a main event at Northern Edge with a focus on locally sourced, freshly prepared, and nutritious, "farm-to-table" meals. The menu changes based on the season, focusing on high-quality ingredients with ample, hearty, and healthy options provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner, catering to diverse dietary needs.
