Bun in the Oven
Saturday, Oct 19 — Nov 9 @ 2:00 - 3:15pm
Bun in the Oven is a 4-week prenatal yoga series tailored to the unique needs of the pregnant body. Led by birthworker and somatic movement facilitator Mary-Dora Bloch-Hansen, each 75-minute session is infused with discussion, movement, rest, sound healing instruments and breath work as tools to co-create a container of care that empowers you with knowledge and mind-body awareness in preparation for pregnancy, labour and birth.
From contraction visualizations to nervous system co-regulation, this series emphasizes community connection as much the diaphragm, pelvic floor and deep core. This series and studio prioritizes gender inclusivity and welcomes pregnant people in all stages of their pregnancy.
Registration for this prental workshop is now available as a Full Series, or as a Single Drop-in session if you are unavailable for all 4 weeks.

Week 1: Setting the Foundation
Following an introductory meet and greet, we begin the series by deeply tuning in through breath work and visualization techniques to connect to our diaphragm and deep belly breath, the foundation for deep core relaxation and activation, which moves us into a prenatal yoga flow that prepares us for deep rest.Week 2: Finding Your Floor + Core
Continuing on from week 1, we’ll add in discussions and practices to sense into our pelvic floor and our deep core muscles. By learning to recruit our deep core muscles during an active practice, you’ll be equipped with the tools and variations to confidently practice on your own or in group settings, deepening your mind-body-breath connection as a means for support during pregnancy.Week 3: Riding the Waves
Commonly referenced in birthwork, this week introduces the 3 Rs — Relax, Rhythm and Ritual. Layering on from weeks 1 and 2, this session takes us into a more rhythmic yoga flow using rocking, pulsing and breath to stimulate and overcome sensations of challenge. We’ll end this practice with contraction visualizations to collectively prepare for labour and birth in an environment of ease and care.Week 4: Putting It All Together
An all-encompassing practice that combines all of the discussions and practices from previous weeks, including a prenatal yoga flow and a restorative yoga practice with sound healing tools to facilitate a deeper rest experience. In an attempt to make our services more accessible to a wider range of financial abilities, three lower-cost pricing options are available at 25% off the full series cost.
